Spedag Interfreight launches PeriSpoor cargo tracking technology in East Africa

Spedag Interfreight at the end of last year unveiled their real-time tracking solution PeriSpoor to more than 500 interested stake-holders. The innovative technology allows tracking of cargo along its journey by sea, rail and road. From or to any seaport around the world or from any location in Eastern Africa, Spedag Interfreight customers can track their goods both by mobile app and web application showing the position in real-time on google maps.

The New Jinja Bridge: An engineering ace

The new cable stayed bridge built at the source of the Nile in Jinja is finally complete and launched, amidst excitement among Ugandans. Launching the dam President Museveni underscored the fact that road transport carries about 90 per cent of Uganda’s goods and passenger traffic. "With the new improved bridge, with dual carriage way, it would significantly improve road safety in the country. ” he said.

Uganda to benefit from ground breaking internet technology

If all goes according to plan, Uganda will soon beat infrastructure odds to deliver high speed 4G LTE internet to far-flung areas in the country using the ground-breaking internet connectivity technology. This is being planned under the Loon Project, an initiative of Alphabet Inc., the mother company that owns the search engine Google.

The new Uganda Airlines takes shape

What started as a pipe dream some years ago is slowly coming to reality. The idea of reviving Uganda Airlines has over the last few months picked pace and gained momentum with all the key requirements seemingly falling in place. Monica Ntege Azuba, the Works & Transport minister, has said the revived airline is expected to make its first flight by December this year.
